Position: Administrative Support/Dog Trainer Assistant

This position is an entry-level support position in our small, growing dog training company with opportunity for advancement and additional responsibilities for a motivated candidate.  Minimum of 50% of hours worked will be administrative tasks.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Puppy DaySchool Program Assistant: assist with socialization and training activities under the direction of our training staff, supervise puppy play, manage and track daily activities and schedules

  • Cleaning Duties: set up and clean up of training studios, regular cleaning of shared spaces, carpet cleaning

  • Administrative Duties: support trainers and owner with data management, document creation and organization, communicate professionally with clients and the community

  • Optional unpaid shadowing opportunities to build skills and continue education towards advancement within training roles

Qualification Requirements:


  • Reliable transportation & clean driving record

  • Reliable access to internet, personal computer and phone

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

  • High degree of patience, empathy and compassion for both dogs and humans

  • Superior customer service & communication skills, organization and attention to detail

  • Willing & able to work indoors & outdoors - standing, walking, bending, lifting and completing physical work in a variety of climates and terrains

  • Ability to learn new tasks and skills quickly with a high degree of accuracy, eagerness to continue learning in an industry that is constantly evolving

  • Self motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team, willingness to go above and beyond for client satisfaction and invest in the company business plan and interests


The ideal candidate for this position will also have one or more of these qualities:

  • 1+ year of experience handling and caring for dogs in a shelter, daycare, training or related position

  • Experience in marketing, graphic design or social media

  • Experience teaching people or working with people in an education, training or service industry

Benefits & Compensation:

  • Part time work, starting at 15-20 hours per week.  Potential for additional hours based on prior experience and development within position.

  • Availability 9am-5pm Tuesdays & Thursdays REQUIRED, flexibility to work evenings & Saturdays; some work from home and flexible scheduling options 

  • Potential for growth into additional hours & tasks with experience & competence, including opportunities to move into dog training position

  • Starting wage $10-15/hour

  • Reimbursement opportunities for continuing education
